The Carol Fund for Animals was established to honor and celebrate the legacy of local-area cat rescuer and champion, Carol Lynn Chapman.

Carol’s indomitable spirit and fierce determination inspired all of us in the rescue community. Unconditional Love Animal Rescue is privileged to administer The Carol Fund to serve companion animal rescue organizations working with limited budgets and resources, allowing them to reach out to cats with special needs.

We are also grateful to receive gifts to benefit The Carol Fund, in continued support of Carol Chapman’s personal mission to end companion animal suffering.

The Carol Fund for Animals Grant Guidelines:

  1. The Carol Fund for Animals was established to serve cats with special needs. (“Special needs” is defined as: medical expense incurred for injury or illness, and ongoing medical care. Also, extra medical care that could include dental treatments, surgeries for broken bones and serious injuries, intense treatment for upper respiratory infections, cancer treatments or other extra care.)

  2. A Carol Fund application must be completed and submitted for grant consideration.

  3. A Board of Directors has been established to distribute funds for fair and reasonable requests for cats in need.

  4. All applicants MUST be affiliated with a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue organization to be eligible to receive grant funds.

  5. The cat receiving treatment must be rescued from an animal shelter in Santa Clara County.

  6. To best manage The Carol Fund’s limited resources, a $200 cap per animal will pertain to all cases that qualify under The Carol Fund guidelines.

  7. All funds approved for distribution will be made payable to the veterinary practice that manages the cat’s care.

  8. Each individual rescue group may apply for no more than $800 in grant funding each calendar year for special needs animals.

  9. Requests for funding will be processed based on most immediate needs.
